Welcome to the 2008 Margaret River Wine Festival Official website! It’s Festival time in Margaret River, and we are preparing to welcome visitors from Perth, Australia and around the world to our beautiful Margaret River region for the end of Vintage Celebration! There are some great events planned at central locations in Cowaramup in the heart of the Wine Region as well as individual events at wineries.

Celebrate the opening of the Festival by watching the annual Downhill Wine Barrel Cart Race along with local entertainment. Enjoy some food and wines at the Margaret River Hotel, Vat 107 and Settlers Tavern. The Augusta Hotel will host a Festival Ball (more details on this soon, stay tuned). [More]
Saturday 3 May - Vintage Festival 10.30am - 5pm
Sample some of the region’s best food and wine at a true celebration of this year’s vintage at Cowaramup Oval in Cowaramup, just 10 minutes drive north of the Margaret River township on Bussell Highway. Entertainment by local musicians Qynn and Jazztrix (jazz trio), vote in the People’s Choice Art Prize, watch wine maker presentations and taste the latest release wines from around 30 Margaret River wineries. Ticket sales - $15 includes free samples. Pre-purchase a bus pass for $35, which will get you from Margaret River to the Festival in Cowaramup and back again (10am - 5pm). A bus pass will also get you free entry to the event at Cowaramup Oval and the mini Festivals at Knights Inn (Margaret River), Augusta Hotel (Augusta) and Caves House (Yallingup). Saturday 3 May – Winery Explorer Bus Route 10.30am – 5pm
Hop aboard the Winery Explorer bus to travel through the Wilyabrup Valley stopping at Churchview Estate, Vasse Felix, Flying Fish Cove, Were Estate, Howling Wolves and Driftwood Winery. The Winery Explorer bus will depart from the Festival in Cowaramup with link buses from Margaret River. Pre-sale tickets $35 limited seats available, we recommend pre-purchasing your tickets. Sunday 4 May - Vintage Stomp 10.30am - 5pm. Pioneer Park, Cowaramup
Join the locals in a celebration of the end of vintage. “Stomp” highlights include a parade, circus performers, live music, barrel races, waiters races and of course the infamous Celebrity Stomp!
